Case
The client needed to provide a series of Windows-based log-on scripts
and wizards to allow for ease of registration and navigation via their
CD ROM to new registered users. It was decided that these new users would
be able to also download information from a server for purposes of receiving
updated software, new Flash ROM (binaries) images, and any new updated
software information.
Solutions
Parallel Software built a User Interface (UI) and a sophisticated back
end to allow for the user to be able to dial up and register with ease
using Windows 95, WindowsNT, Windows 3.1, and DOS. The user has the ability
to easily log-on, navigate through the server, and if needed, flash the
modem ROM with new images that potentially speed up the modem throughput.
In addition, the user could locate any number of ISPs for purposes of
using their sites for access to the Internet. Application was developed
using MFC Classes, Visual C++, and Borland's C++.
Additional localization scripts were written to support the standard
7 Euro languages.
