CREATIVE, SIMPLE SOLUTIONS Worldwide Truck Manufacturer Ecommerce Development Business Case The client needed a Macintosh Hypercard-based Order-Entry system based on three different formats of a parts layout converted into an Internet (E-commerce) based system. A network of 1200 dealers needed to replace their CD base system with several million parts combinations into an Internet model for access using a browser. Solutions This project included writing a Windows and Macintosh client software using Java (JVM 1.2) and Javascript. This system included converting several thousand images from one image format into PICTS for lookup purposes. The implementation was on a Netware node with several Windows clients accessing this information for a large truck fleet. This system will eventually allow a dealer of any size with a standard browser to have access to transformed Hypercard data stacks.
