The client needed additional modules created for it's toolkit for communication processes. Solutions Parallel Software using its own Foundry Process®, created the first of a series of communications-oriented protocol components using AppWare Loadable Modules (ALMs) for the DOD protocol suite. These TCP/IP ALMs were created for both the Macintosh and Windows platforms. They included FTP layer functionality for object and file level transfers. These components within the AppWare environment would allow the user complete connectivity between the client and a number of back-end servers such as UNIX, and Netware. Ten other ALMs were created on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms.
