CREATIVE, SIMPLE SOLUTIONS International Telecommunications Company Internet Browser Development Business Case Parallel Software was asked to assist with the development and support of branding browsers for a major telecommunications company. Solutions Both Netscape Navigator (Communicator) 4.xx and Internet Explorer 4.xx for Windows were branded and tested and successfully released. This was accomplished through the creation of many scripts and Wizards to assist in making the installation and the finding of local POPs (to the user) easier. Many different scripts were used including InstallShield, Windows wizards, and other modifications. Quality assurance and testing was performed throughout the project to ensure a high degree of integrity. Final releases included modem detection and modem error checking. In addition, many changes were added for cookies, and applets to check for memory utilization, other browser foot prints, and conflicts. The team included several Quality Assurance testing people to ensure that the browsers were well integrated and stable.
