CREATIVE, SIMPLE SOLUTIONS Compression Software Vendor Compression Software Development Business Case Parallel Software was contacted to develop a working proof-of-concept for a compression product. This involved creating variations of Huffman coding techniques and reporting methods for this very fast compression scheme with the help of the inventor. This involved creating a new means for reading data on the fly for very fast compression of high fidelity (rich graphical) files such TIFF and EPS formats. The implementation of these new methods required understanding of memory, buffering, byte utilization, binary number theory, and optimization of CPU resources for the fastest throughputs available. Solutions Parallel Software was able to guide the client through the initial conception and design criteria. The software was optimized both around memory footprint and for execution speed restrictions. It was implemented to be cross-platform and UI (user interface) independent. This effort has produced the most efficient high fidelity image compression available in the marketplace today-lossless.
